This is the last thing I should be doing at this very moment because it's almost dinner time and I should be working on it, but I have to "blog" about our family home evening last night. On Sunday when I was sitting in church I had an epiphany... big word but love it. I figured out that maybe because we have the two boys at home for a short time we have a "second chance." I told Paul what I was feeling and he feels the same way. We have made some goals for ourselves that we are going to have family prayer and family home evening on a regular basis. We have been doing it and it's working out rather nicely.
Last night our lesson was from an article from Elder Holland about Lot's wife and how she turned back to look at the city that was in ruins, Sodom and Gomorrah, and the Lord specifically told her not to look back. When she did, she didn't obey, she turned into a pillar of salt. She thought that nothing that lay ahead could possibly be as good as what she was leaving behind. The object of the lesson was to look forward in faith and not look back at past mistakes. Repent for what you have done, don't waller in the past and look forward with faith knowing that you are doing everything you can to be a better person and make something of yourself in life. The Lord will not remember what you have done and he will forgive and forget. God doesn't care about where you have been as he does about where you are and if your willing to go forward with his help.
Faith is for the future. Faith builds on the past but never longs to stay there.
We had a great discussions with the boys and the spirit was strong. Paul gave a beautiful family prayer. I'm thankful to him and his leadership. I love my boys, I'm glad they're here. Maybe this "second chance" thing will be good.

Beautiful.
Sounds like a great lesson. We need to get back in the habit now that things have settled down a bit.
I think sometimes we forget how important some of those Bible stories really are. Awesome application. And have fun with your second chance.
Hello mother I love you!
