Where Has All the time Gone?

It's really fall here. Crazy... The geese are back and so loud. I love hearing them. I sometimes just totally stop what I'm doing and listen to them. They're so cool. The leaves are turning and just alittle slight nip in the air. It' my fav time of the year.
We had so many fun, memorable experiences this past summer.
Ez married Amanda.
They are beautiful together.
Are you kidding?? So beautiful!
They live in ND managing our little trucking company. Have a cute house and love their ward. It's starting to get cold there and they've pulled out the thermals.

Then 2 weeks later... Kenzi married Cam.
That was such a sweet moment. She was so giggly...
I have beautiful children.
They live in SL. Cam works for Zions Bank and Kenzi works for the church as a "plant specialist".
Works all over temple square taking care of all the fresh plants in all the buildings. Goes in the conference center, the temple, JSB and church office building. Runs into quite a few apostles every other day. She's golf cart certified and loves her job.
AND.... We're gonna be grandparents!!  I've already picked my name. "Mema" I don't where I got it. I just love it though. Isn't that the cutest pic? They are expecting in March.
So life is good. Paul and I are happy in our places and healthy, except for a few little aches. My parents are well and functioning for the moment. Paul's mom is healthy and happy in her lil Rupert home.  YAY!! I'm caught up for awhile.

It's all for Kenz

I was told that my blog is old, stupid and outdated. So I've worked here for a bit today hopeing it will be to better standards of those reading... Just thought I'd give you alittle update. Leaving Monday for Cali and will be gone for 2 1/2 weeks. Paul will be fine but any of you live around here should check on him since the last time I was gone he flooded the basement, (had to rip out all the carpet in the bedrooms) left a pen in his pants pocket and ruined the inside of the dryer and let a bat hang out in the front yard and hang on the front wall. Whew!. Anyone can check on him and make sure he's OK.

Summer Days

Summer has come and almost gone! 2 weddings within 2 weeks apart is some crazy stuff. We made it through and everyone is happy and in their places...
We're busy driving trucks in ND and I'm flying back and forth to Cali. about every 3 weeks. I've traded in babies and car seats for old parents and wheelchairs! It's a new learning experience everyday.

Spring Is In the Air...

I feel it, I really do! It's a hit and miss but it's coming. Sooo much happening here in this household.
Kenzi and Ezra both now engaged. Kenzi getting married June 30th and Ez hasn't set a date yet. Sometime this summer though. We are excited.
Paul is working hard driving his truck in ND. Doesn't like it very much but we are hopeful it's getting on it's way. The weather out there is really mild and that makes things more tolerable. I find myself doing alot of office work trying to stay on top of all the paperwork. AND there's alot!  I travel to and from Cali. once a month lately. My parents are doing well. Dad seems to slip weekly with his little mind and things are just  not coming to him. Mom is doing very well with the recovery with the new hip. Her doc told her that most women at her age 83, that break a hip usually die within the next year because they cannot get back to normal activity. Therefore they cannot get healthy to be able to recover if they become sick.  Does that make sense? So shes very healthy but needs to slow down a bit and take more time. She rushes around like a mad woman sometimes and we have to tell her to take it easy. The break has taken a bit of tole on her. Her stamana is not the same and we have to take more breaks when we're shopping. It's all good.
We spent some time in Baja  and of course it was great weather. I love that place. It's so relaxing and you really have no cares in the world. Look at the beautiful background. Every morning onto the deck for a couple of hours watching the sun come up and the birds diving for fish. It's great.
Life is good for the Douglass Clan and we look forward to our upcoming adventures. Stay tuned!

Hello My Friends

Did you think I was done blogging? I'm not... just haven't made the time to get here but I have alittle time this morning. Christmas was great with all the kids home and we really had a great time. Over the Christmas holiday Brooke and Colton were sealed in the SL temple. That was a grand experience for us and them. They are happy together and doing very well with their little lives. We are so pleased with them. Kenzi is still working her job and happy and Ez is off to new adventures with his dad. That's another day, another story when theres more time. All good of course.
I've been in Cali. taking care of my mother for the last 2 weeks. She fell right before Christmas and broke her hip. Had a replacement and now is home "rehabbing".  There was alot to do when I got here but we have things under control. It's weird to watch people around you, siblings... to see what their reactions are to situations. My dad has dymentia and uses a walker full time. He's quite the handful and requires constant attention and assistance. My mother is doing very well but alittle forgetful like using the walker to get across the room and then turn right around and start walking out of the room without it! It's a full time babysitting job sometimes. I feel blessed to be here and care for my parents. It's another phase of my life that I knew someday would be here and it's a reality check when your here. My dad has always been a very stern man, not really happy in his life though I think he thought he was and if it wasn't for his "happy pill" would be cruel with words. He's in a boyish stage and is sweet and kind. It's odd to see that behavior just because I have never experienced that with him. I've had moments that I just sit with him and hold his hand and cry to know that he is in this state of his life which I'm sure is frustrating for him as well. He sees my tears and is tender with me with alittle pat on my arm. Somewhat confused by my tears.  I've really never had experiences with him like that. He tells me that he loves me and is so glad I'm here. My mother is a real go getter and is very mad that she fell and has put everyone out. So she thinks. My sister has retired from her job recently and I'm in a place that with my  time that I can be here. We are all ok with the situation, she just needs to learn alittle more patienc. She's just frustrated and wants to go, go, go. She will be ready in about a month and then we probably won't be able to keep up with her! She's 83 this year and is just gettng started. Really good genes there so I'm not worried about getting to her age.
I've been to zumba once. A pretty good class, nothing like AnnaLee but got a good workout. I will be coming home for about 2 weeks and then back here for maybe 3.
Life is all about adventures and how we approach them is the key thing. The weather here has been 75 everyday and I have loved waking to a slight breeze and sunshine constantly. Since the beach is close by there is always alittle moisture in the air and it feels tropical always. I really love it here. I miss my friends and long for their conversations and friendships. I love you all.
